Our sessions, including frequency and session length, are determined by individual need.  A speech-language therapy session may  be conducted individually or in a group.  Our team uses a multi-modal (i.e., auditory, visual, and/or tactile), engaging, and interactive model to engage your child in learning and increase their self-confidence.

Portland Pediatric Speech Therapy is most proud of its commitment to providing services that are relevant, functional, and useful  in the specific way that your child most needs it.  This is why we are happy to provide home and school visits.  We can target skills in the environment where they are needed and involve parents, teachers, specialists, other students/peers, and caregivers to ensure carryover and generalization of skills.

We can't wait to hear from you! Contact us today and let us help you find the right services for your child.

If you are interested in our rates, please contact us to discuss the needs of your child to determine the best service delivery method.

We offer speech-language evaluations to provide communication-related diagnoses and to identify specific linguistic difficulties as well as areas of strengths. This information provides insight into your child's learning profile. Your specific concerns will determine what level of evaluation is warranted.

A comprehensive formal speech-language evaluation will include formal and informal assessment of several skill areas, observation, and parent/caregiver and/or teacher interview.

A speech-language screening will be briefer and provide broader insight to a specific skill area (e.g., articulation specifically).

Evaluations
Consultation

Consultation is a service that provides support to other providers (e.g., parents, teachers, caregivers, tutors, etc...) who interact with your child.  It does not typically involve direct treatment but rather consultation to those working most closely with your child.  For example, we can provide consultation services to your child's school team to ensure that their communication needs are being met.

Travel

We travel to your child to provide therapy in a setting that is most relevant to your child.  This can include home visits, school visits.  Libraries are sometimes a mutual place to meet if a family prefer the clinician not be in their home.  We respect your privacy as well as the individual needs of your family, so the location of our sessions is very flexible!

We currently serve the greater Portland, Maine area (e.g., Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Falmouth, Cumberland, Gorham, Westbrook, Windham, etc...). This is not a comprehensive list and is expanding every day! Contact us to see if we travel to your area.
